Nicki Minaj

After performing on Lil Wayne’s “I Am Still Music” tour and her upcoming slot opening for Britney Spears, Nicki Minaj is getting ready to hit the road solo. Young Money’s First Lady is sharing plans for her own tour in 2012.

I’ll be headlining my own tour,” the “Super Bass” rapper told UsMagazine.com, “So this is my time to be a student and to learn and to absorb all of this information and then take that knowledge and create an amazing Pink Friday tour at the top of 2012.”

She may have new music to perform by then. The hip-hop Barbie previously teased about her sophomore album. “You’ll get another album within 12 months,” she told KIIS FM’s JoJo. “You’ll get the announcement for the next album in September.”

Before she heads out on her own, she will pick up some tips from Britney Spears on the pop star’s “Femme Fatale” tour starting June 17. “I’m honored to be out with Britney. She’s freakin’ paved the way for pop culture,” added Nicki. “We are in talks to hit the stage together but that is up to her. I would love to, of course. If we do something on tour, it will probably be the [‘Till the World Ends’] remix. I’m sure there are so many things I’m going to learn just by watching her.

Super Bowl halftime controversy–per that already famous middle finger that M.I.A. offered tens of millions of viewers before the censors could get to it? Did Madonna encourage this insurrection from her guest rapper, so that she’d have some provocation in her otherwise family-friendly set without having to take the rap herself? Or was M.I.A. using Madonna and the Super Bowl to get attention for her own new video and forthcoming album? Or maybe just driven to atone, in her own outrageous way, for having sold out in agreeing to be Madonna’s celebrity cheerleader?

Whatever the motives, this is hardly the first time M.I.A. has gotten the public’s hackles up. Her status as a lightning rod for controversy was satirized just a couple of months ago on “Saturday Night Live,” when an actress parodying M.I.A. interrupted a spoof Christmas duet with Michael Buble by repeatedly firing a pistol in the air, mid-carol.

M.I.A. almost seemed to be satirizing her trigger-happy in her appearance in Madonna’s new video, “Give Me All Your Lovin’,” when she ended her guest rap by emulating a gun-firing movement with her hand, as the sound of a shot was heard in place of a censored S-word in her lyrics.

No doubt the NBC censors were expecting her to do the same miming during the live telecast, as she surely would have in rehearsals–only to have her replace the trigger finger with an emphatic upraised middle finger.

Don’t expect to catch Nicki Minaj‘s latest music video “Stupid H*e” on BET — We learned the network is REFUSING to air it.

News cast spoke with a rep for BET who wouldn’t specify exactly why the network has banned the video — simply saying BET will not be broadcasting it.

But sources at the company tell us, the ban was put in place because the video’s just too explicit for TV.

The song lyrics alone are bad enough — repeating the phrase “stupid h*e” dozens of times — but the video itself is damn raunchy too, showing several nearly naked female figures. Normally this is where we’d post the video … but in this case, just Google it.

It’s pretty great — especially if you like Nicki’s butt in a thong.
